RISK MANAGEMENT

Your safety is our mission!

Our risk management is the process of identifying, assessing and controlling and managing hazardous treats, or risks, to a plant and to people involved in the operation of the plant. These threats, or risks, could stem from a wide variety of sources during the life cycle of a plant and any machinery used by the production process.

Every process plant faces the risk of unexpected, harmful events that can harm people and cost the company money or cause it to permanently close. Our risk management allows our clients to attempt to prepare for the unexpected by minimizing risks and extra costs before they happen.

We always design any automation and control system solution with our clients safety in mind. We are part of the safety solution as we can provide the following services:

  • Risk management, hazard identification and risk assessment engineering in terms of hardware and software perspectives.
  • Risk management, hazard identification and risk assessment training.
  • Corporate wellbeing, Health and Safety integrated into the process control risk management

Why is risk management important?

By implementing a risk management plan and considering the various potential risks or events before they occur, an organization can save money and protect their future. This is because a robust risk management plan will help our clients establish procedures to avoid potential threats, minimize their impact should they occur and cope with the results. This ability to understand and control risk enables our clients to be more confident in their process plant. Other important benefits of risk management include:

  • Creates a safe and secure work environment for all staff and customers.
  • Increases the stability of the process plant operations while also decreasing legal liability.
  • Provides protection from events that are detrimental to the personnel, the company and the environment.
  • Protects all involved people and assets from potential harm.
  • Helps establish the organization’s insurance needs in order to save on unnecessary premiums.

Our risk management strategies and processes

Our risk management plans follow the following steps that combine to make up the overall risk management process:

  • Establish context: We understand and define the circumstances in which the rest of the process will take place. The criteria that will be used to evaluate risk is established and the structure of the analysis should is defined.
  • Risk identification: We understand and help our clients to identifies and defines potential hazards and risks that may negatively influence the manufacturing process, our clients employee or project. This is our hazard identification process (HAZID to AS IEC 61882).
  • Risk analysis, assessment and evaluation: Once specific types of risk are identified, we then determines the odds of them occurring, as well as their consequences. The goal of risk analysis is to further understand each specific instance of risk, and how it could influence the plant operability and safety. The risk is then further evaluated after determining the risk’s overall likelihood of occurrence combined with its overall consequence. Our clients can then make decisions on whether the risk is acceptable. This is our hazard and operability study (HAZOP to AS IEC 61882).
  • Risk mitigation:  During this step, we assess their highest-ranked risks and develop a plan and design a solution to alleviate them using specific risk controls. These plans include risk mitigation processes, risk prevention tactics and contingency plans in the event the risk comes to fruition. While the complete elimination of all risk is rarely possible, a risk mitigation strategy is designed to deflect as many threats as possible in order to avoid the costly and disruptive consequences of a damaging event. This is our risk management solution (Safety instrumented systems for the process industry sector to AS IEC 61511).
  • Risk monitoringPart of the mitigation plan includes following up on both the risks and the overall plan to continuously monitor and track new and existing risks. The overall risk management process is also reviewed and updated accordingly. This is our risk management monitoring (Safety instrumented systems for the process industry sector to AS IEC 61511).
  • Communicate and consult: Internal and external shareholders are included in communication and consultation at each appropriate step of the risk management process and in regards to the process as a whole. This is our risk management style.
